LPTV Gig Guide: Monday, April 21st

Hey everybody, this is Lindseay Parker here at Licorice Pizza with your LPTV gig guide for the week of April 21st. I've said it before, I'll say it again. The great thing about Los Angeles is you could technically see a show here every night of the week if you wanted to. But I have some recommendations to help you manage your busy concert calendar. So obviously we're still coming off two very busy weekends at Coachella. So we're going to rest easy on Monday and Tuesday this week. a rare two nights off, but the night life starts up all over again on Wednesday when metal provocator Poppy is playing the wheelturn. On Thursday, another rock goddess, legendary Sonic Youth co-founder Kim Gordon is at the Velasco, and I will absolutely be there to bow down. On Friday, jam band legends Fish are playing the first of three nights at the iconic Hollywood Bowl. They'll also be there on Saturday and Sunday. I have a feeling a lot of their fans will also be there on Saturday and Sunday because no three fish shows are alike. But on Saturday, you could also go to LA's other iconic outdoor venue, the Greek theater, for the Light Up the Blues concert celebrating Autism Speaks 20th anniversary. This is a festival worthy lineup in and of itself with Neil Young, Steven Stills, Cat Power, Billy Idol, Linda Perry, Nathaniel Ratliff, Rufus Wayright, and more. And then finally, if you feel if you actually can rally and go back out to the desert for a third weekend of fun in the indoor sun, stage coach aka the country Coachella is happening on the same Empire Polo Field.

Of course, the usual big Nashville stars will be there like Jelly Roll, Zack Bryan, The Brothers Osborne, Sturgil Simpson, Uzi, Ashley McBride, Luke Combmes, Midland, the list goes on. But here's the deal. Even if country music isn't your thing, there's literally something for everyone at the stage coach this year. It's a truly bonkers and random lineup. Check this out. All these people are playing Creed, Team Paid, the Backy Boys, Nelly, Lana Del Rey, Tommy James and the Shaell, Sammy Hagar, Google Dolls, also Diplo, and the mayor of Flavortown himself, Guy Fiery. They're literally all playing stage coach. So yeah, yeha, I guess. So everybody, please have a wonderful musicfilled week wherever you end up.

And I'll be back next Monday with more concert picks.
