LPTV Music Guide: Friday, May 2nd

Hi, I'm Lindsay Berger here at Lakers Pizza with your LP TV new music guide for May 2nd right here from Licor Pizza headquarters. This week I am most excited personally about 10 Crowns. This is the record, the new solo record by the iconic Andy Bell. I'm talking about Andy Bell from Eraser. While we're waiting for Mr. Bell to get back in the studio with Vince Clark for a new Eraser album, Andy's new solo album, which is actually his first solo record since 2010, has him in the studio with another new wave icon that I'm sure you've all heard about. Uh Debbie Harry from Blondie and that gets more than just a little respect from me. Indie band Car Seat Headrest are also back this week with their first album in 5 years. It's titled The Scholars and they are describing this one as a rock opera. I'm all about rock opera. So I'm all over this one. I am intrigued. Car seat headrest. I can't wait to hear this one.

Speaking of stuff, I can't wait to hear the magical angel voices of Lucius's Jess Wolf, and Holly Lasis, who I'm sure you've heard them sing on everyone's records and concerts from Joanie Mitchell, Brandy Carile, Roger Waters, Harry Styles, Jeff Tweety, Jackson Brown. The list goes on and on. There's a reason their voices are so in demand. And they are back with their fifth self-titled album titled Lucius. Obviously, this one features collaborations with Taylor Goldmith of Daw and Madison Cunningham. And then finally, another angelic voice is flying high again this week because Suzanne Vega is back with her first LP of new songs in 11 years and it is titled Flying with Angels. There's a whole bunch of other records this week. Too many for me to get to all but here you go. Blond Shell, Eric Church, Lights, Maddie and Tay, Puddle of Mud, Puck, and Six Pence None the Richer. They all have albums out. Something for everyone obviously. So come on by Licorice Pizza for all your music needs, new and old, now and wow. And I will see you soon.
