LPTV Gig Guide: Monday, April 28th

Hey everybody, I'm Lindsay Parker here at Licorice Pizza with your LPTV gig guide for the week of April 28th. It is a big week for the Beayhive. Beyonce is kicking off her entire Cowboy Carter tour Monday right here in Los Angeles at the Sofi Stadium. She's playing their five nights also on May 1st, the 4th, 7th, and 9th. And Monday will be the first night. On Tuesday, Robert Smith endorsed Scottish post rock band MGA are going to be at the Bell Weather. And then on Wednesday at the bell weather as well, you can check out Canadian post rock band Godspeed You Black Emperor. And then for something completely different, funk goddess Nika Costa will be at the Roxy on Wednesday. On Thursday, if you're not at night two of Beyonce, you can check out Funk God's Parliament Funkadelic featuring George Clinton, of course, at the Novo in downtown LA or indie pop goddesses Lucius doing what I am sure is going to be an absolutely magical set at Hollywood Forever Cemetery's Basonic Lodge. Then on Friday, if it's not already obvious, I'm already wearing what my outfit Padam Padam. There is no place I would rather be I should be so lucky than at the Crypto.com Arena seeing my personal goddess Kylie Manog.

Then moving on to Saturday, there's a whole bunch of different concert options. It really shows you there's something for everyone in LA, ranging from the Jesus Lizard at the Fonda Theater to American Idol star David Archeletta doing a special after hours club show at the Bellweather. And then on Sunday, May 4th, May the 4th, be with me as I see my favorite musical polymath and literal genius Rufus Wayright and Jane Fonda, the Jane Fonda doing his orchestral piece, Dream Recquum at Disney Hall. And finally, if you're not too festival after three weekends in India for Coachella and Stage Coast, the 3-day beach life festival is happening in the much cooler region of Rodondo Beach this weekend. It features Lenny Kravitz, Alanis Morset, Sublime, Jackson Brown, The Pretenders, Cake, one of my favorite bands of Struts, Phantom Planet, and Dickable Planets, Susanna Hops, and even the Beach Boys. Beach Life Beach Boys makes sense. But this is the Mike Love, John Stamus version, not the Brian Wilson version if that's your bad. So, wherever you end up, have a great musicfilled week, everybody.

Thanks for watching, and I will be back Monday next week with more concert picks.
