LPTV Music Guide: Friday, April 11th

Hi, this is Lindseay Parker here at Licorice Pizza with your LP TV new music guide for April 11th. This week, Bonav aka Justin Vernon is back with his first album since 2019. It is called Sable Fable. And special guests on this one include Daniel, Djon, and Flock of Dimes. And then we have OKG Go, the most visionary video band in Power Pop. They're hopping back on the treadmill this week, so to speak, with Ann the Adjacent Possible. And of course, a band like this is not just going to put out any typical vinyl record, some flimsy normal record. This one is a feast for both the eyes and the ears. It features a 3D pop-up sculpture and the first pressing of just 3,000 copies is a double LP set on 180 g 45 RPM disc in a

foil stamp gatefold with full color inner sleeves. That is more than okay. That is pretty awesome. The delightful and very colorful country singer songwriter Valerie June is back this week. She's releasing Owls, Omens, and Oracles. It is a full circle return to her indie rock roots produced by M. award and also featuring vocals from the blind boys of Alabama, true icons. The record comes with an excerpt actually from her book Maps for the Modern World, which I think is something we all could use right now. And then finally, believe it or not, the Spin Doctors are back with their first album in 12 years. It is called Faull Cake. And if you're a fan of '90s jam bands and '90s college rock, you can't be wrong if you pick this one up. So come on by Licorice Pizza for all your music needs. And I will see you soon.
