LPtv New Music Guide: June, 27th

Hi there, this is Lindsay Parker at Licorice Pizza Records with your LPTV new music guide for June 27th. 2025 is obviously the year of our Lord with an E because New Zealand's alt pop royal herself, Ella Yelich Oconor, better known as Lord of course, is back with her very anticipated fourth album Virgin. This is her first album since 2021, Solar Power, which to be honest was a bit of a bust. A lot of people didn't quite like that record, but this one sounds like Classic Lord, so girl, it's not so confusing. You should come in and get this one now. This week also brings us albums from two other female pop singer songwriters, both interestingly with reality show ties.

Former American Idol semi-finalist Lauren Spencer Smith is releasing The Art of Being a Mess. And Grace Vanderwal, who won America's Got Talent at age 12, but is now all grown up at age 21, is back with her sophomore album, Amusingly Titled Child. But perhaps the most divicious of all divas, Barbara Stysan, is back with The Secret of Life Partners Volume 2. This is the long in the making sequel to her 2014 duets album. And it features pretty much everyone all of her famous friends Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Mariah Carey, Ariana Grande, Sting, James Taylor, Hoser, Sam Smith, Tim McGra, Josh Groman, and Seal. Cuz obviously when it comes to Barbara Stysen, no one says no to barber stries. Other records out this week are Stockholm Syndrome, which is the first album in 19 years. incredibly from bonafide LA royalty fishbone. Bow down to fishbone. Life behind bars by country punk band The Vandeliers, which is the band's first release since lead singer Jenny Rose came out publicly as trans. And finally, Robert Randolph is releasing his first official solo album.

It's called Preacher Kids. It's out on Sun Records. It's produced by Shooter Jennings and it features Margot Price and Judah Hill are awesome. So, this is very impressive lineup. Robert actually celebrated this release just this week with an awesome performance right here at the store at Licorice Pizza. So, we highly recommend you come and get this one if you weren't able to be at that show. So, come on by Licorice Pizza actually to pick up all these releases and more. And everybody have a great weekend. I will see you next week.
