Hello, this is Lindsay Parker here at Licorice Pizza Records with your new music guide for September 5th. Now, obviously, we are all still hoping for Talking Heads reunion one day. It seems like maybe one day it'll happen, but in the meantime, the next best thing is a new album from David Burn. Fresh off all his cool live collaborations with people like Miley Cyrus and Olivia Rodrigo, David Burn is back with Who is the Sky? And it features a whole bunch of other cool guest stars like Haley Williams, St. Vincent, The Smiles, Tom Skinner, lots of cool people. So, if you want to pick it up, Licorice Pizza must be the place. See what I did there? A lot of people were talking about Oasis these days, but I've always said when it came to the great Brit pop wars of the 1990s, for me, it was not about Oasis versus Blur. It was all about Pulp versus Suede, and everyone won. So, Pulp released a comeback album earlier this year, which made me very happy. And now, Suede, who sorry, I refuse to call them the London Suede. They are just Suede in my book. They are releasing their 10th album. It is called anti-depressants, but it is something that is making me very happy because Suede, as they are known, are consistently great. And trust me, this one will not disappoint. Now, speaking of consistently great, UK bands, London garage punk shame are back this week with Cutthroat. That's their fourth album. While dance pop band Staint Anen are releasing what they're saying is going to be their final album.

It is called International. Faithless are also returning with Champion Sound. This is their first album since the 2022 death of their lead singer, Maxi Jazz. And then there's Ivy. That's the other pop band by the late great songwriter Adam Slesinger of Fountains of Wayne. They are releasing their first album in 15 years, Traces of You. And it actually features Adam Slesinger on all 10 tracks. That's going to be a really special listen. This week also brings us a wide-ranging assortment of other great records like Australian synth pop band Cut Copies Moments. Deep Purple singer Glenn Hughes releasing his 15th solo album Chosen. British singer songwriter Tom Odell's A Wonderful Life. Grantly Phillips in the Hour of Dust. folk band Big Thief's Double Infinity and Matchbox 20 frontman Rob Thomas with his sixth solo record, All Night Days. So, obviously, there's something for everyone here at Licorice Pizza, so everyone should come on by. I'll be back next week with more new music picks.
