hey this is Lindsay Parker here at licorish pizza with your LP TV new music guide for February 7th it is Super Bowl weekend in case you didn't know and even non-sporty people like myself who couldn't care less about who's playing don't know what teams are playing do not care we do care about who's playing the halftime show I know I will be tuning in for sure to see All-American hero Kendrick Lamar play I loved him when he had too brief of a moment in Dr Dre's All-Star halftime show in 2022 so I'm really stoked that he is the main event now he surprise dropped his six album you might remember GNX last November just dropped it out of nowhere squeaked in at the last minute to get on almost every critic's 2024 year end list best of list but now the physical CD and vinyl editions of GNX are finally out this week and time for the big game yay touchdown I don't know I don't like sports I like thear though in other news 2025 is only just begun and we only just wrapped up the Grammys obviously but I think we already have a contender for this year's Best New Artist that is British singer songwriter Lola young now you may not know her name but you definitely know her viral Anthem Messi the anthem for unapologetically complicated and imperfect women everywhere this song is it really is everywhere it like blew up on Tik Tok is everywhere right now it really touched a collective nerve it just became the first number one single in the UK of 2025 and now the physical edition of Lola's sophomore album this wasn't meant for you anyway is finally available on this side of the pot also out this week is years and years frontman Oli Alexander's first official solo album um this is the first one under his own name it's called POI prog band Dream Theater are back with their 16th album parasomnia and then we also have openwide which is the third album by Irish alt rock band inher which in case you didn't know fun fact is fronted by Elijah Houston the very talented son of a man uh you might know named Bono the YouTube and finally this week brings us the 41st Yes you heard me correctly 41st album by the hardest working band in indie rock no doubt Guided by Voices this album is called Universe room and something tells me it won't be the only album the very prolific Robert Pard and gbb release in 2025 they released three albums 2023 so watch the space come on by to our space to licorish pizza to pick up these records and many others see you here go Kendrick
