PRE-ORDER: Virgin Prunes - Heresie [CD], Virgin Prunes, CD

Seminal early-'80s release from Dublin's most uncompromising post-punk collective, Hérésie captures Virgin Prunes at their most raw, ritualistic, and confrontational. Originally released in 1982, the album compiles crucial early recordings that blur the boundaries between post-punk, industrial music, performance art, and gothic experimentation. Abrasive rhythms, atonal textures, and emotionally charged vocals define a sound that helped shape the darker, more extreme fringes of the post-punk movement. This newly expanded CD edition restores the original album in remastered form and includes a rare live recording from the Rex Club in Paris, capturing the band's intense and confrontational performance style. Housed with a 16-page booklet and featuring brand new sleeve notes by Jon Wood, this edition makes a vital and long hard-to-find title accessible once again in definitive form. Essential listening for fans of Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire and adventurous post-punk archives.
