PRE-ORDER: Sedibus - 3 [Digipak], Sedibus, CD

Sedibus is a collaboration between Alex and original Orb member Andy Falconer who engineered/co-wrote the ambient sides of The Orb 'Ultraworld' album back in 1991. Alex and Andy reconvene in the mountains of Portugal for the next instalment of the Sedibus journey. Featuring contributions from Violeta Vicci on violin and Paul Ferguson (Killing Joke) on drums. It's an ambitious double album that continues the Sedibus mission to explore lush sprawling ambient soundscapes and experimental spaced-out electronica. As on previous works the album effortlessly combines organic acoustic and synthetic elements to stunning effect. The session took place in the middle of the Portuguese fire season who's smoke would often block out the sun and turn the entire daytime landscape into an eerie near nocturnal orange glow. At night the encircling burning peaks would light up the night sky while sirens wailed to each other in the far distance like strange, wounded leviathans. We were moved by the spectacle and the hint of danger. I can't put my finger on exactly how, but I'm sure it influenced the music.
