PRE-ORDER: Lg Galleon - I Am Your Pity [Colored Vinyl], Lg Galleon, Vinyl

For over a decade, Lg Galleon has fronted Dead Leaf Echo, the Brooklyn collective whose lush, concept-driven records have placed them at the forefront of the American shoegaze revival. 'I Am Your Pity' is his first record under his own name, and it arrives as a genuine departure: an acoustic album that gives up none of the darkness, weight, or atmosphere of his previous work."Hello Mephisto" opens the record on a peal of cathedral bells, surrendering to frantically strummed guitar, full of seduction and dread in the same breath. "Paralyzed" is it's opposite, a brooding mantra that erupts into distortion and heavy drums, a brief return to Galleon's electrified wall of sound. Woven between are lyrics full of longing, grief, and the realization of mortality. Galleon's voice sits at the front for the first time in his career, and his songwriting carries the weight. For admirers of Neil Halstead, Grouper, and Sparklehorse. Packaging and design by Timothy O'Donnell (4AD, Beggars Banquet). Pressed on Dark Orchid vinyl, while supplies last.
