Drummer-composer Joe Chambers-best known for his work with Wayne Shorter, Bobby Hutcherson, and Freddie Hubbard-is joined by Larry Young, a pioneering jazz organist whose modal and avant-garde leanings helped define Tony Williams' Lifetime and Miles Davis's Bitches Brew era.Double Exposure isn't a conventional organ-and-drums record-it's a deeply textural and often introspective album where post-bop, spiritual jazz, and early fusion sensibilities converge. Tracks like ""Mind Rain"" (later sampled by Nas for ""N.Y. State of Mind"") showcase Chambers' emotional range as a composer.
