It's A Joy To Be Alive is the third album from married British folk-pop duo Ferris & Sylvester. As the title suggests, the 11-track record explores the search for joy and hope in life's darkest moments, inspired by the duo's own experiences of music, marriage and parenthood. The album marks an evolution of the award-winning pair's signature sound, blending soaring vocal harmonies, hook-laden guitar riffs, and their trademark balance of sweetness and grit. There is also a distinct nod to 1970s pop throughout the record, with lush strings and backing vocals reminiscent of Burt Bacharach and The Carpenters.
