PRE-ORDER: Dietrich Volle - Wundervolle Weihnacht [CD], Dietrich Volle, CD

WHY THIS CDIn 1966, shortly before Fritz Wunderlich's death, Polydor released a record entitled 'Eine Weihnachtsmusik', sung and narrated by Hermann Prey, Fritz Wunderlich and Will Quadflieg. Alongside the well-known Bible verses from Luke 2, verses 1-20, the two singers added ten popular Advent and Christmas carols. Interspersed among these are several pieces of music in the style of pastoral music (Albinoni and Telemann). Taking inspiration from the brilliant production by Hermann Prey, Fritz Wunderlich and Will Quadflieg, I put together a concert and a similar recording 60 years later as a family project.As Hessischer Rundfunk was interested in recording the concert and went on to broadcast it twice at Christmas 2025, this CD - now available - was subsequently produced in collaboration with the label hanssler CLASSIC.
