A favorite trio from the streets and venues of New Orleans as well as festivals like the Brooklyn Folk Fest, this stellar early country and folk group makes it's recorded debut with a sound that feels both lively and deeply rooted. The members have been playing together in various projects for years, eventually coming together to form a cohesive group that captivates audiences with harmony singing, tight instrumentals, dance numbers, and an earnest take on old-time music traditions.Their self-titled album draws from the repertoire of country pioneers such as The Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers, alongside remarkable rediscoveries from obscure regional 78 recordings. The trio features fiddler George Aschmann of Fort Valley, Virginia; multi-instrumentalist Coleman Akin of Johnson City, Tennessee, who plays guitar, steel guitar, and fiddle; and Mo Kinney from Georgia on banjo. The band's name adds a touch of humor, playfully inspired by the house brand of Dollar General.
