Blood Of Others [CD], Bruce Cockburn, CD

These songs have been accumulating in my life since the 1960s, long before I ever began writing my own. Many remained with me as warm-up pieces, familiar companions I would return to before a performance, or simply as a welcome respite from singing my own words. Every so often, another would find it's way into the collection. I'd be idly playing the guitar, stumble across a progression that reminded me of a song-""You Belong to Me,"" for instance-and realize I needed to go back and truly learn it. Some of these selections are deeply sentimental favorites, while others fascinated me as musical journeys across the guitar's fingerboard. Together, they form more than a collection of songs; they are milestones, each connected to a particular time, place, or memory, tracing the subtle contours of a life lived through music. - Bruce Cockburn
