About This Record
Released in 2000, Secret South finds 16 Horsepower further refining their distinctive blend of gothic Americana, folk, bluegrass, and alternative country. Driven by David Eugene Edwards' haunting vocals and spiritually charged songwriting, the album explores themes of faith, redemption, and human struggle through atmospheric arrangements and traditional roots instrumentation. Widely regarded as one of the band's defining works, Secret South stands as a powerful and deeply evocative entry in the Americana canon
